Staying in the present moment means looking around you wherever you are.
Have you ever driven from point A to point B without noticing anything in between?
Have you ever taken a walk in the forest or in the city to find yourself thinking about so many things, that you ended up not noticing what was around you?
Do you tend to let your ideas scattered all over your mind when you walk?
Take the time to be in the present moment. You can practice that by taking pictures. No, not a selfie, but a picture of the butterfly, the bird, the flower, the cloud, the path, whatever you are observing and find yourself feeling a good wow-this-is-nice, or a Hm-I-like-that-feeling you just had.
When you stop to take that photo, you learn to stay in the present moment a little longer and practice appreciation.
Staying in the present moment means watching your child’ smile and seeing the sparks in his or her eyes before saying to hurry up and get dress.
Staying in the present moment means having a conversation over the phone with someone without doing something else at the same time. Having a conversation with a person over the phone or texting with someone while you are sitting in front a movie you do not particularly like, or having a drink with a friend with your cell phone in hand, is not completely being in the present moment… unless you are both watching it together from a distance, or you are sharing your last vacations pictures over a drink.
Concentration as much as socialization is at its best when you stay in the present moment. It brings a quality to life and relationships.
Artists and creative people are well aware of this feeling, as many creations often develop as the present moment advances in time when ideas progress and beautifies, because the creator follows the present moment in which inspiration comes and the person does not remain attached to the initial idea, not only thinking about finishing up as soon as possible to move on, whether it is a masterpiece or a recipe. This is co-creation, creating with the Universe.
Staying in the present moment does not mean being slow or not moving to the next task on your schedule. It simply is the state of being where your focus point is in the now.
Staying in the present moment helps either appreciate or desire something, because staying in the present moment is listening to what is, and listening to what comes.
Continue to learn to enjoy the present moment for what the present moment is. Become an observer of your own life or learn to become a better observer of your now and yourself.
Remember to Breathe in, let go of your ego-based thoughts and vision, see from your Soul and Love Out.
